His passion and work in democratising global surgical education led to the nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2019.
His mission is to make healthcare accessible, equitable and affordable through innovation, technology, digital transformation and disruptive thinking. He has worked with hospitals, governments, NGO’s universities, start-ups and large tech companies as well as taking board and non-executive director roles.

He is 3 x TEDx and a highly sought-after international speaker having delivered more than 300 keynotes in over 30 countries.
As an academic he holds a number of professorships and is faculty at universities including Singularity University, Harvard Medical School, Imperial College and Barts Medical School. He is an Honorary Professor of Practice at the new UCL Global Business School for Health and also teaches on the MBA programme at Stellenbosch University, South Africa.
